Team Management FAQ

What is the difference between a 'Team' and a 'Group'?

Teams are a special kind of group. The first difference is that a team is bound to an event. In the first instance members are sourced from the "players" who have registered for the event. They can subsequently have team officials assigned from anywhere in the member base. By nature, they have the extended functionality provided by our Team Management tools (ie. Team pages, Team Officials, contact list, etc).

A 'Group' in Majestri is a mechanism to bring together disparate people from across the entire system on an adhoc basis, mainly for communication purposes. They can be made up of anybody, not just players, and their members can transcend events.

How do coaches and managers get to see their Dugout?

Once you have assigned a team official, and ensured that they have their own unique email address, you simply need to send them to the Password Reset screen. They just need to enter their email address (it needs to match the one set against their record in Majestri), and the system will send them an email and guide them through the process of setting a password.

At the end of that, they will end up in their own MyDetails screen, where they should see links to the teams they are in charge of. Clicking one of those links will take them to their Team Dugout.
